Style Icon: Mathilda
Leon: The Professional has been haunting my thoughts since I rewatched this 1994 French classic a week ago. Twelve-year old Natalie Portman as Mathilda serves the best of 90’s style with her signature choker, crop tops, crochet cardigans, vintage MA-1 bomber jacket, floral printed shorts/skirts, and ankle boots with scrunched socks. I’ve always said that your style icon should be your style icons’ stylist - in this case costume designer Magali Guidasci, who solidified her legacy by being the creative mind behind these looks that are still being imitated today and are my inspo for Coachella 2016.
